Delivering Stronger Foundations for a Better Passenger Experience at Tottenham Hale Station
We're proud to share another successful rail infrastructure project delivered in partnership with CML (Construction Marine Ltd), supporting the refurbishment of Platforms 3 and 4 at Tottenham Hale station in London recently.

Working within a tightly controlled Bank Holiday rail possession, our team delivered specialist ground improvement beneath 77 new platform foundation locations using our Teretek® engineered resin injection solution. The project was critical to supporting the installation of new GRP platform structures while meeting stringent bearing capacity requirements.
Key project highlights:
Ground improvement across 77 foundation pads
Minimum bearing capacity target of 75kPa achieved
Delivery within restricted rail possession windows
No excavation required, minimising disruption and coordination risk
Real-time monitoring and comprehensive QA/QC data capture
Post-treatment validation confirming improved ground strength
The Teretek® solution enabled precise, controlled treatment within a constrained rail environment, providing a fast and efficient alternative to traditional excavation and replacement methods. The approach also delivered significant sustainability benefits, including reduced plant usage, zero spoil generation, lower embodied carbon, and enhanced long-term asset performance.
As Raj Sharma, Contracts Manager at CML, commented:
"Mainmark provided a highly professional and technically capable service throughout the works at Tottenham Hale Station. Their design input, engineering expertise, and proactive weekend support were key to delivering a practical, cost-effective solution without compromising quality or programme."

Projects like this demonstrate how innovative ground engineering solutions can help the rail sector deliver critical upgrades safely, efficiently and sustainably.
